Hey guys,
Any suggestions on where I can get my Pug from? I've been here in Austin for two years now, and now am ready to get my dooggy! I am planning  on getting him or her late October Early Nov.-plenty of vacation time set aside for the occasion.

If anyone is passing through or is available to pick up a pug in Waco please call Rita ASAP. 512-947-7522
This is an owner surrender to pug rescue. We are also contacting the owner to see if they can meet part way.
They want to surrender before Monday.

The monthly meet is this Sat, 6/7/08 at Bull Creek District Park from 10a-12p.

We'll be in the main park area.

I've been trying to find the latest news on the bacteria levels in Bull Creek.  They got way out of control last year and Parks/Rec had been working on managing it.  Depending on the whether or not the bacteria levels are back in normal range, we may or may not wade in the creek.

Hopefully, we'll be able to wade....it's gonna be a HOT one!

Hi Kristy!
We had too much downtime between the last forum and getting this new & improved forum working that we lost all the activity  Sad

It would be great if we could get this forum up & running again!

Hello,

I am moving my 3 pugs from Seattle to Spicewood next month and the home I've purchased sits above the Pedernales river. The 5 acre property surrounding our home is ROUGH and I feel it is very likely there are snakes on my property. I am very concerned about my dogs coming in contact with a poisonous snake and being bit.  So, I have a couple of questions;

1)Have you vaccinated your pug against rattlesnakes? If yes, did your pug have any side effects from the vaccine?

2) Do you have an opinion on rattlesnake venom vaccinations?

3) Have you or someone you know had experience with Rattlesnake avoidance training?

4) Do you have any tips on keeping my pugs safe from snakes? Can you suggest any special precautions I can take to (attempt) to keep snakes off my property?

5) Can you tell I might be a little afraid of SNAKES??

Thanks to any and all who can respond.

We went to the specialist today, and man I liked this doc. She was so great with Wrinkles. For those of you who don't know Wrinkles, she is high needs, and needs a doc with a calming nature. Anyway, the good news is this, not going to loose the eye at this point. We are on a tight schedule of medication (which fortunately should not be difficult for her to deal with as they are all eye drops) though, she gets on treatment 4 times a day and one 2 times a day. The doc said the eye that is the worst is not tearing well at all, and gave us something to help with that, and it should also help with the pigmentation from fold irritation that is starting. If the medicatioin treatment does not work then we will start to talk about surgical options, one of which includes cosmetic surgery to take care of some of the folds, I am hoping we don't have to go the surgery route. Anyway, Wrinkles is home, and I am a much happier mommy now that I know it is not to terrible. Gigi on the other hand wonders why she did not get the "special" car ride today in the middle of the day. Puppies, who can live without them!

Want to cool off your pug(s) during the hot summer months??
Want to teach your pug(s) to wade/swim?

Our weekly summer swimming at Bull Creek starts up Wed, 5/16 and runs thru September!

Pugs & their humans generally get to the park around 6p-ish & are there til dusk.

Seems obvious, but sometimes people forget....be sure to bring towels to dry your pugs after their swim  Smiley

The following are a list of rules for the AustinPugs.com website:

1) Be courteous to others. Anyone who harasses another member may have their account revoked.

2) No profanity. We want to keep our site family oriented and appropriate for our younger audience members.

3) Breeding posts are not allowed. This includes Stud and Bitch services. We prefer to leave the breeding to the breeders.

4) "Pugs for sale" posts are prohibited. Responsible breeders should line up homes for their puppies ahead of time. This rule is here to prevent puppy mill vendors and anyone else looking to make a money off the breeding and sale of pugs. We are here to promote the joy of pugs not to promote pugs for profit.

5) Commercial posts for sale of services or goods is not allowed unless expressly approved by the webmaster.

This list is in no way complete and may be changed in the future.

And finally, the most important rule:

Have fun and enjoy the site!  Grin
